I went to the U. of Florida and graduated in nursing, meeting Bill there. Bill was in the Navy from '68 to '72, and we were stationed in Newport R.I., Monterey, CA, San Angelo, TX and 2 years in Puerto Rico. For the summer after Bill finished his Navy service, we stayed on a farm in High Springs, FL, where Bill took care of about 30 cows, brought in a crop of tobacco and corn, and replaced most of a 100 year-old fence around the 70 acre farm. In the Fall of 1972, Bill returned to UF to finish law school. In 1974 we moved to Neptune Beach, FL(the coast of Jacksonville). Bill went to work as an assistant public defender and then served as the elected public defender; he retired in 2009. We traveled the western US and all over FL and the southeast with our daughter Cassie. My sisters and parents moved here in the 80's. We've seldom missed a Gator football game; Cassie got her BA and MA there. Cassie spent 9 years in New Orleans and in Brazil working on her Ph.D. at Tulane, where she was a Fulbright Scholar, so we spent time in those places too. Our granddaughter Daphne was born in 2007; we travel often to Atlanta to visit this wonderful child. Cassie and her husband are professors of anthropology at Georgia State University.
I went to Roosevelt from 1-6. It was torn down many years ago. We moved from Myrtle St. to Elm Tree Lane in Brynhaven then and I walked to Elmhurst Junior High--remember Mr. Thiems?

Thanks for the birthday wishes. We had a nice day with too much cake but at least a zoo trip with lots of walking. Another year that went too fast.
